To all of our adventurous spirits out there &#x2014; yes, you can totally make a hard soda. &#xA0; You&apos;ll want to decarbonate your soda first. You can do this by shaking and letting out the gas (over and over) carefully, or you can pour the soda into a pot and simmer it for a sec. &#xA0; The reason you have to do this is because &#x2013; if not &#x2013; the Brewsy bag powder will &quot;activate&quot; all the carbonation at once and make it foam everywhere!&#xA0;&#x1F631;One more thing: sometimes, drinks made with soda end up not tasting too much like the original soda. &#xA0; A great trick to help prevent this is to save some of the soda at the beginning, and then later boil it down a bit (to make a syrup) to then add to your drink at the end. &#xA0; Since soda usually has more preservatives than juice, it will take about 7 days to ferment, and you can expect to get around 8% ABV. For best results, stay away from sodas with a LOT of high fructose corn syrup. Other ingredients to avoid (rare) are sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate.
